It's a slightly weird conversation, but I like it.

Y'all = you all = all of you. We use that all the time in Oklahoma and Kansas! Is it actually strange sounding in the far northeast.

Y'all have great skiing in Oklahoma and Kansas! It is currently tied at 2 to 2 in the 2nd period of game 1. Hope y'all rootin' for the Rangers.

Grammatically correct, except for the fact that there ain't any skiing in Oklahoma or Kansas (once again Maine is proven to be the superior state)?
Maybe that is why they call that region the Great Plains?

Now, y'all have a nice summer!
And carry on with the slightly weird conversation. I would not want to live in Todd's dreams.

Todd: It'll be ok. You have to expect some side effects from skiing on your Head for all these years.
Unrelated, but maybe I can help you out by hijacking the thread.
I stopped to help a couple of paraplegic bikers in the park (one had lost his chain, the other was limited in getting close enough to help). I stopped and asked if I could offer a hand, which they accepted. Half a mile down the road, Lynn says, "You know, they would have probably appreciated the offer of a leg more than a hand." So you see Todd, you're not alone in an occassional foray into the weird.

Now I understand why Lynn thought the thread was only "slightly weird."

Maybe that is why they call that region the Great Plains? Gee Jim, I screwed up on the Fisher/Fischer thing. This is a forum about skiing and associated topics. So..... I made a leap of faith when y'all brought up Oklahoma and Kansas. I thought you meant there was skiing in Oklahoma and Kansas.
Maybe I was tired. Lost in a hockey game (which did end up being a losing cause - darn). Dreaming...... Do I too need to protest....let me out of here!

It is a site that does have "skier" in the name. However, it sometimes wanders a bit off the beaten path (and this current thread is getting pretty beaten).
But I just assumed that you thought that the "fisher" that you were spelling was the same thing that Todd had heard reports of weird things going on. And I was enjoying the fact that I could work my "Fischer RC4 Superior SC" skis into the conversation so adroitly.
And y'all should know that there is a difference between Kansas and Oklahoma (and West Virginia). Kansans know that there is an apostrophe in the middle of "y'all" while those others think that "yall" is a word unto itself. What's the appropriate Maine word that refers to a vague collective of people. Hopefully not "you'uns"?
