I hear that conditions at A-Basin are great with more new snow on a regular basis. Hard for me to assimilate as I get ready for a bike ride in the 80 degree temps of te day. Are any of you still skiing?

I'm toying with doing the redeyes to A-Basin this weekend, but work will probably intrude. Since they've announced a June 8 extension, maybe I'll make another weekend instead. Guess Todd didn't make it to A-basin over Memorial Day weekend.

I've seen posts about A-Basin skiing indicating High Angles is still getting some turns. This has been an amazing late skiing burst for those in the Denver area. Hopefully, he'll check-in and rub it in our faces.
For easterners like me, it's about putting miles on the road bike wearing short sleeve shirts. Biking provides nowhere near the rush of skiing.

meput,
Didn't make it. Big stuff is happening at work. Memorial Day was my first bike ride of the year instead of my last skiing day. Only about 50 minutes because of stinging pollen in my eyes, but it felt good.
I just pulled the trigger on my A-Basin pass for next season minutes ago. That's good for a bit of skiing stoke ... especially 'cause I'll ski a little with Harald there.
Will you be doing a camp this coming season? If you've graduated from the camp thing, maybe you can teach me a few moves this winter.

Todd, Sorry you did not make it out to A-basin. Sounds like the skiing has been fantastic. meput, Will you be doing a camp this coming season? If you've graduated from the camp thing, maybe you can teach me a few moves this winter. Sad to say, but I did not graduate from the camp thing. I didn't even graduate from my Blue/Dark blue camp last year. On the last day, I decided to ski on my head instead of the skis (remember cracked helmet, concussion and all). Anyway I've been informed that if I want to do anything else, I have to repeat Blue and get remedial tutoring. I thought the head skiing with the skis in the air was quite impressive. I was tipping my left ear like there was no tomorrow, my CA and CB was totally cranked and my head was totally grounded. Even with the high performance head turn, Harald and Diana said that the head thing just doesn't cut it in PMTS and it needs to go . So I need to graduate from Blue before anything else. So when I graduate from Blue camp, I may be able to help with some really cool moves including skiing on your head. Actually I am going to repeat the Blue/Dark blue camp this year. Timing works out that Kristin can go to the Blue/Dark blue this year, so it will be a father /daughter trip. She is skiing well and I think there is a good chance we could be in the same group. My goal is to use it as a short turn tune up before doing mogul camp in late February. Since I will be at A-basin at least 8 days between the 2 camps, will be looking at a season pass. Maybe even an Epic Pass.

Meput,
Oy vey! And here I've been skiing on my Head for the better part of a decade. Time to break that habit so I can become a better skier. Will give Fischer a try.
Have a great time at b/d-b with Kristin.

yeah, Todd. Just sayin' --- but as one who, like Living Proof, has made that transition, you need to get off your Heads and get on some Fischers.
After all, it says right on the ski that mine are "Superior".

Fishers can be nasty here in Maine. Even though they stay up on the snow pretty well, they will bite you if cornered. They will even go after your cat. Oh wait a minute, you guys must be talking about the ski brand, not the animal. Sorry

Meput, I've heard tell of strange goings on deep in the mountains of Maine. What y'all do in private with fishers, felines, and other four-legged life forms up there on our northern marches, is, of course, your own business. But don't be surprised if the cultured folks down Massachusetts way still count themselves fortunate to have jettisoned the Mainers back in 1820. Todd, I too have heard of strange goings on in the Maine woods. Things like Amos Winter and the Bigelow boys cutting a trail on Sugarloaf Mountain to go sliding down the mountain on the snow, something called "skiing". That was back in 1950. Thank goodness the southerners of Taxachusetts cut Maine loose before sucking us Mainiacs into the morass that is now Massachusetts. If it weren't for the Red Sox, Bruins and Patriots, Massachusetts wouldn't have much going for it. Oh by the way, thank you for your Blueshirts taking out les Habitants. That was a good game 6 at MSG. Will be cheering for the Rangers over LA for Lord Stanley's Cup. What is the definition of "y'all" ? Haven't heard a term like that since I lived in Atlanta.
