Thanks to Svend, I have a new pair of Fischer Superior SC skis in a 165 length on the way from a Canadian eBay store.
And so, my pair of Fischer Progressor 800's, 170 cm length, are looking for a new home. (Bindings included). Let me know if you want more information or pictures.
Thank you, Svend, for the find.

Jim,
Since K closed for the season today, I've spent some time mulling over prepping for opening day at Loveland. After all, it's just around the corner mere scores of bike rides from now. If you wish, I'll take the new Fischers and put them through a rigorous thirty point, three day on-snow certification for you opening week. As a friend, I'll provide this full break-in certification service free of charge.
BTW if you know who was Fischer Ski Babe, what do we call you?
Enjoy the new skis. I look forward to seeing the turns that the new skis and Bob's tutelage combine to create.

Jim,
Good score on the skis! Svend should be a great purveyor of equipment, what was his finders fee? Few sweat the details of equipment purchase to the extent he does. Glad to know that your 1 hour demo wait at , while the Fisher Ski Babe skied Pa. powder, was not in vain. At 165, they should turn, turn, turn. Did you get them flat? At Elk next year, we can do Fischer day, I'll bring the WC Sl's, assuming they don't kick my butt as Helluva predicts.
How did shipping from Canada go, including customs. Svend gave me some great advice about cross-border shipping when I bought my Atomic Boots which were used 1 day by the original Toronto owner. Arrived with no problems other than spend 36 hours at the border while in Customs.
And, as Todd reminds us, ski season is coming! Can't wait, although I will not be joining him at opening day at Loveland. So nice of him to offer to take the shine off you new skis (in more ways than one). Todd, did you do closing day?

Welll, if you see pictures of me in a thong bathing suit with skis on the snow, then "SENILE" is probably pretty close to the mark. Until then, just call me "happily anticipating next year". Lynn and I signed up for the Super Blue camp next January, but not yet looking past the summer. There's a metric bike ride and a return to Montreal in the offing. (Not to mention the 15 wheel barrows of top soil we hauled into the garden yesterday). Attachments:

Todd, did you do closing day? I missed out on closing weekend. My Mother came for a quick weekend visit. We enjoyed the wonderful Spring weather in the the NYC area. She's very understanding and waited until "after" ski season to come for a visit. From the threads on killingtonzone it appears there was some serious walking required down the superstar headwall sidestepping around exposed rocks, and the Upper Skyelark / Lower Bittersweet route was closed by ski patrol on Friday although people kept ducking the rope over closing weekend until a guard was posted. I'm toying with doing the redeyes to A-Basin this weekend, but work will probably intrude. Since they've announced a June 8 extension, maybe I'll make another weekend instead. If not, then slant board and Harb Carvers for me.

After Todd's done breaking them in for you, I'd be happy to start training them. I'm registered for the November Short Turns camp, so would have expert supervision.

Power Rails, Not flat so easy to swap. Swappingg skis would be interesting. It will probably only take me 1/2 a run to realize I'm overmatched by the skis. Not too worried about shipping. AsoGear is the name of the company, and shipping is included in the price. I just ordered them last Thursday and they may even arrive this week, so not much of a delay. I'm still behind, though. Two new pair of skis for Lynn compared to only one for me. Feeling left behind in the snow.

Dan: I think it will be really exciting to hear your nightly posts about the Short Turns camp. Living vicariously through through Meput and Smackboy was "almost" a highlight of the ski season. Of course, that also means that the bar has been set pretty high.

Short Turns Camp. As part of the registration, they asked what the registree (me) wanted to accomplish in the camp. Here is my response and some follow-on dialogue. Jim sent: Harb Ski Systems replied. And Jim said: So Dan, what did you state as your goals for the "Short Turns" camp?? And I think I shall have to decline the most generous (and perhaps a bit self-serving) offers from you and Todd to break IN my skis. I think I am going to climb way out on a limb, however, and see if I can handle them in their virgin state (unless, of course, Gary offers to tune them with the normal 6 coats of wax, eternally sharp edges, and just a hint of yellow added to the topsheet.
