If we're talking flexion exercises to ultimately effect edge management... I think I understand ...putting that to use...the outside downhill ski, uphill edge, is the first to release all edges. FOR ME, the drills help ingrain this concept.
From there and depending on conditions for me, using the uphill edge of the uphill ski to manage speed and or turn shape AND/OR flatening to float, pivot, drift or scarve, OR powering the down hill inside edge for sweet carves.
For me, a quiver full of ski tools makes the mountain a larger playground.

I agree but would modify this slight by augmenting, "release all" with feather or release to the extend desired or required by conditions or terrain. For me that could range from a light touch (say 5%) to a full 50/50 split; as the snow becomes more 3-D that shift to uphill pressure increases as edge angle decreases. Make sense? (you know I am not good at writing this stuff)
