Mental gears straining slowly ... I'm trying to figure out how to check the bike frame and skis as one piece of luggage without an oversize charge. Or if I could add a tent, then the hotel savings would pay the oversize charge. (It would be so much easier if Ratliff would just agree to pilot the Gulfstream for me.)

I just want to point out that Lynn has 2 pair of new skis. She has 2 days on her new Mya 7's and similar days on her new Mya 8's. You don't remember, but Svend helped her find a pair of '12-'13 new 8's before last season, and then the Montana machine malfunctioned during initial prep and melted one of them (literally). By the time they got them replaced (with '13-'14 model) we were back in the east and no longer needing powder skis.

Jim,
About that ski the Montana machine melted ... Since the Viking and you were involved, I wonder was there by chance a nail secured to the bottom of it?

Todd, what are you thinking? If the "ruined" Mya 8's are not nailed to a wall, and if the melted portion is mid ski or farther back, the front tip portions would work for your bike?

Todd: I'll gladly pilot the Gulfstream (or Lear Jet). I've been reading "Flying for Dummies" all day, and I downloaded the "On the Wings of a Bird" app (by Leonardo da Vinci) earlier in the day. I'm set, and ready for flaps down and wheels up. Also, I've watched Top Gun repeatedly, so I've been trained by the best of the best -- Maverick and Ice Man. And we'll have Kelly McGillis along as hostess and flight consultant letting us know that "We've Lost That Loving Feeling."

I'm psyched! I'll finally be joining the tubeless crowd, trading in my old school clinchers for tubeless Mya 8 levitation. And I've got a new pilot with combat experience.

That's absolutely right. Too bad for you the "combat experience" wasn't actually in a plane. But I did ride in the back of helicopters quite often.

Ok Todd , you are clearly on a roll. I stayed at a Holiday Inn once, that should also be a big asset in this weird trip you are"taking"?

Dan, which piece of the quiver are you missing? Still looking for a high-mid 90's AT worthy ski that can handle heavy duty use?? That Variant 97 we discussed ought to still fit the bill.
I'm also trying to put together a mini quiver for my boy…some combo of race (race able carvers) and versatile twin tips. Ideally, I'd like to find short skis built like adult skis…(145-155cm max). Thinking a multi-event junior race ski and a 149cm K2 Sight…
AS much as I am thinking of moving away from big skis…I can't help how my eye is always drawn to them…also liking the new Liberty Origin (and the aforementioned Icelantic Gypsy SKNY).
