Hi Folks
Josh was invited to continue his participation here if he acknowledged his previous lack of adherence (in a HUGE way) to the ony tenet of this forum No personal attacks, mutual respect etc.
He has show an inability to do so, so the banning from the previous site continues here.
Josh can be sweet, informative and fun and I like (mostly) his contributions.
But principles are principles. We can't look the other way and pretend it never happened.
He is welcome back anytime he feels he can man up.
Lynn

We have all seen the NFL replays. One player gives an extra shove or cheap shot -- the target retaliates, and the referee sees that and throws the flag. The moral, as any NFL coach will tell you, is that we are all responsible for our actions no matter what our "perceived" justification might be. All we expected of Josh was to agree and say that his actions of last year were wrong.

This isn't a carry over from his recent participation/banning on the PMTS forum?
I didn't see if he wrote anything that was particularly bad here (if it was deleted and I missed it I apologize). Or, did you ask him to post an apology for past behavior and he refused? I'm not sure who'd agree to such a thing. This seems a little like a following of suit over here on the pmts-lite forum.

Not at all related to the PMTS forum (but a blind man could have felt that coming). In my mind, this forum is just a continuation of the RealSkiers forum, where he was banned. He was never unbanned, never gave us any indication he was able to contribute while still respecting fellow forum members. The only reason this issue came up was because I didn't replicate the bans from the "smfnew" site when I moved it here. Because he initiated posting here, we decided to repeat the requirements and expectations for participating in this forum. He did not. To me, respect for fellow members is the fundamental requirement. Understanding that there is no justification for violating that guideline is second. Josh is unwilling to step up to those expectations. Like Lynn, I have benefited quite a bit from Josh's contribution, especially with respect to mountain biking. But like many others on many forums, much of how he says things causes me to bite my tongue and do my best to ignore him. PS. While visiting my son in Paraguay 2 years back, I asked about his memories of childhood. His most embarrassing moment in his life was when I made him publicly apologize to his Little League team for something he said. I felt pretty badly at his memory, because that IS the way I think, and I said so. He then corrected me, saying that event was also one of the most important lessons in his life. He is now 36, and recently got assigned to Senegal after spending a year in Afghanistan, and is happy with his spot in life.
