I'm getting excited about the Gore idea. I have never been there and would like to check it out.
Jim and spent a few days this summer at a B&B near Schroon Lake and coincidentally, about 20 minutes from Gore mt.
This place had THE BEST BREAKFAST I have had EVER!!!! Be nice to take over the 4-5 rooms, eat exceedingly well and then ski a short distance drive. As Gore is a state run, no on slope housing.
Thoughts?

So the way to a woman's heart is through her BREAKFAST? ? Or is it a great BnB...the Tennis Diva would vote for the BnB!

I'm up for it if the timing works out. Lots of things take a back seat to job and family, so the timing has to be nearly perfect.
Liam, I'm generally with you on Okemo. There is one nagging 'but' in my mind. Last year I skied with a friend (Norm)(first time skiing with him) from town at Stratton. I would have written that place off if I hadn't been shown all the secret stashes by someone who knows the mountain. Well, this guy turns out to be a hoot on skis - certainly top 1% for his age (mid 50's). He kept right up with my son Jordan and I all day and we never skied a groomer for the whole day - bumps and trees all day.
Anyways, Norm skis Okemo a lot, and swears that it has great terrain - you just have to know where to find it, and that it is as good as what we were doing at Stratton. He's been saying this for years, which of course made me think that he was a groomer only sort of guy, but seeing him ski.... So, I plan to ski it with him this winter and find out what he knows - you're welcome to join us.
