Hmm, SharpEdges??? I checked the members of the forum, and, that is a listed name, but, he has not posted on the site. Any chance that it's High Angles? He is a very devoted PMTS proponent, but, he has been very quiet on the ski forums. It has been 2 seasons since he has been a regular contributor here, Epic or the PMTS forum. I don't recall High Angles as being a Head ski user. Phil's affiliation with a ski shop ended mid-season last year, I will miss his ability to supply gear at great pricing. The skill that he needs now is to market Pugski as a preferred advertising medium. The site will expand on Jan.1 from the limited ski forum. Over the years, he's networked extensively with the gear community, so, he should be well positioned.

If he sold a pair to SharpEdges, then I am almost certain that it was probably a pair of Head skis. If I remember correctly, SharpEdges was a pretty adamant and vocal advocate of PMTS? Jim, Sharp's a PMTS skier. I've been to a Harb camp that he attended. I don't think so much that he's a vocal advocate of PMTS as that he is a frustrated former ski school student fed up with what he perceives as conventional instruction chicanery. To this day, he's deeply ashamed of how much dough he forked over to several conventional ski schools before switching to PMTS. Using Douglas Adams' immortal words, I'd characterize Sharpedges as "mostly harmless." Todd

Todd:
How long ago? Was he a better skier than you at that point, or better at words than actions?

He can bend a ski. And he has a keen eye for MA.
As to our relative standing, I'm trying to follow Jay's lead there and focus solely on my own skiing journey. There's still a competitive part of my psyche that wants to rank everyone on the slopes, but I try to restrict my ranking activity to different mes -- me of today, me of last season, and me of next season.
Me of today is extremely frustrated to be sitting at home the whole holiday weekend nursing my knee when there's skiing to be had. I'm going to come up at least 20 days short this season ... maybe only scoring 50 days on snow :-(

Hey Todd, Sorry to hear that you hurt your knee. Hope it wasn't too serious. Be quick on the mend. Now to rub it in: waiting for son to motivate, grab the shuttle and hit the slopes . Jim

To this day, he's deeply ashamed of how much dough he forked over to several conventional ski schools before switching to PMTS. Using Douglas Adams' immortal words, I'd characterize Sharpedges as "mostly harmless." Todd Thought of Sharpedges today while lurking the PMTS forum. Harald did a new blog entry claiming the Mikela Shiferin's skiing was PMTS skiing and did a photo of he feet doing a super-phantom movement. He challenged the PMTS faithful to see what the Epic guru's thought of this position. Sure enough, in Epic, Sharp did the post. Time to get a little "chattie" on this tactic. What is the point of singling out the Epic Instructional forum? Are they equivalent to PSIA or USSA who rule the teaching technique of recreational and racing instruction? Hell no. If I remember correctly HH was more a critic of Shiferin's skiing last season, did she modify her technique to become more like Marlies Schild, a past super-phantom poster child? But, somehow, it must make him feel more important beating up Epic. He exhibited similar behavior on Facebook. He is a major proponent of Bernie Sanders for President, and, would constantly attack the Republican Party as a means of promoting Bernie's liberal socialist positions. Guess what HH, if you want Sanders to be the Democratic Party nominee, you better start attacking Hillary. More and more, I lose respect for the man due to his tactics. He's becoming Donald Trump-ish. That's all I have to say on this issue, back to normal ski forum stuff in the future. Pardon the mini-rant.

Agree with HH's epic diatribe.. Don't know why that site is such a focus for him. Would be nice if he could just let it go, but that doesn't seem to be his personality.
As far as the Shiffrin analysis, on his blog he does a nice dissection of the styles of Schiffrin and Fenninger. He has found Fenninger a much cleaner skier in GS than Schiffrin, but states that he sees a lot of improvement in the last year. The point he was trying to show made sense in that context much more so than the PMTS forum rant did.

Meanwhile, back at Pugski. Several weeks ago, I did a post about my double Sport Tube used to carry skis on airlines. The Sport Tube has a weak point, in that, if the skis are inspected by TSA, then the bag may not be secured correctly and ski may be damaged. It also is limited to a 180 cm max ski. I had not revisited the thread until today, and, to my pleasant surprise, my friend, and our tech guru, Gandalf posted in that thread. Thanks JimRatliff. So far, I've seen Gandalf, Superbman and HelluvaSkier, Gary is a member but I don't think he has posted. I want to ask those who have not joined Pugski to consider doing so, as, a means of supporting Phil and Trish on the new commercial development which will be their primary source of income. Membership numbers and views of posts count toward the site becoming more popular in the world of Google searches. The site will expand from a forum to a more robust ski site in the next couple of weeks. Jump into any thread of interest, so, far it has been a discussion level on plane with what happens here.
A quick update regarding my airline bag, I now have a double Transpack bag, just like JimRatliff, to use on the upcoming trip to Denver for the Epic gathering in Aspen. If anyone is interested in my old Sport Tube, I will gladly gift it, assuming we can figure out how to get it to you.
I did do a post about the PMTS power release demonstrated by Diana. So the ice was broken regarding PMTS and the traditional PSIA instructors. The thread has drifted into some other areas, but, remained mostly a positive discussion. HelluvaSkier jumped in, and, so did Superbman.
