First day of our two week trip and we are off to a pretty good start. About 6" of new snow and great first day of skiing today, a couple more inches forecast for tomorrow, and then 10" or more Monday night. Off to a snowy start, and really looking forward to Tuesday.

Here in Jackson Hole, the skiing is some pretty hard snow. It has not snowed in the past few weeks, the temps remain well below freezing so now corn snow. Jackson sits in the sun all day, so the north facing areas have some nice spots, but, you need to search for them. Still, it's great to be here and ski with old and new friends. One is from New Zeland and he likes skiing with us blokes. Today is a rest day after a very long day that ended with the last Tram to the top. 4000 vertical feet to the bottom on some scratchy snow. Not a smart idea for last run, should have just downloaded to the bottom. Hindsight is an exact science. Off to Grand Targhee on Tues & Wed. Some snow is in the forecast. Come on Ullr.
Enjoy Colorado Jim and Lynn.

We are having some great skiing. Still finding some little glades that haven't been chopped up, but this one was a bummer. The Aspens were really open and fun, but we were surprised to find that the evergreens had a mega house on the other side, so a dead end. Lynn had some problems getting turned around, this is her standing next to her skis. s Attachments:

The last 2 days of our trip were at Grand Targhee, 8-9 inches of some nice snow the first day, mostly cut-up snow the second. Great bluebird days. Targhee was great for my off pieste skiing as it has very mild pitches to develop the repetitions and confidence. My last afternoon was, perhaps, my best day ever in soft bumps and trees. My ski buds kept commenting "who was that orange pants dude?"
Bummer was that I was stranded in Atlanta for 48 hours waiting for Delta to find a seat home to Phila. They cancelled my flight to Philly just as my plane landed in Atlanta. 2 days in a Motel is Boooorrrriiinnnggg. Now if they had done that before I left Jackson, then, I could have skied more days there.

Best day ever in soft bumps, awesome.
48 hours stranded sounds awful, UN-awesome.

Last day of our two weeks, and we guessed right. Scattered snow, we got 5 inches at Breckenridge and nothing at Vail or Beaver Creek. Lovely day, except when Lynn decided to ski out of bounds and had to hike a bit to get inbounds.

Well, it's March 28th, and, I've not had a day of real spring skiing. Been to my Pa. home mountain 5 days since returning from Jackson, been well below temps that I'd consider as spring skiing, still wearing my winter parka and feeling chilled. My mountain closes tomorrow, Sunday, and I plan to be there. Sunny with temps in the low 40's, this may be as good as it gets. Tonight's temps are to be around 20, will spring ever get here? Carving skis seem to be in order for the last day. Somewhere in the back of my head, I am dreaming of skiing in VT. after Easter. Anybody planning very late eastern skiing?
@ Helluvaskier In looking at the leg alignment in my avatar, I'm thinking you did some pretty accurate work in advising me on boot canting. Agree? Mud, Sweat and Gears did a good job with my boots, thanks much for taking the time to work with me. Hope we can do it again next year.
