This season's i.SuperShape Magnum is a very nice ski (redesigned from previous seasons) and should be available after President's Day weekend for a good discount.

Meput, just read this again and realized that you are talking about the WC iSpeed and not the supershape speed! This is good bc you can find these at a good price. As with all things Head, they have several different models which is confusing. Any insight here? I was talking about the i.Supershape Speed, 13/14 edition. Sorry about referring to it as the iSpeed. I have no knowledge of the WC/Rebels iSpeed. Wouldn't mind trying it

LP - thanks for clarifying about the HH comment. Makes sense now....didn't twig your meaning there.
HA - that's good to know about the new Magnum. I tried an early model ('09? A few years ago, and was impressed at the smooth running and stable feel. Very even flex pattern made it easy to control. Great ski. I may have demo a new one as a replacement for my old Nordica's. They seemed pretty darn good in soft snow and crud, too, which would work well here.

Perry, I totally get that. Our eldest is starting university this September, and the day that we will have all that on our shoulders is fast approaching. Fortunately tuition costs here are much more sensible than Stateside. But you might be surprised at the cost and time involved of traveling to Louise. There are direct flights to Calgary from many major US airports; flight costs are reasonable; and there is frequent shuttle service from Calgary airport to Louise and Banff village (about a 1.5 to 2 hour trip). Plus, the US dollar is stronger now, so you get a small bonus there. Lift tickets are cheaper there too, than most US resorts. The best deals, and some great ski conditions, can be had in early April. Bottom line -- it's probably no more costly or harder to get to than resorts in the western US. Ready to go? We'll be there in March.
