That has to be really costly (in lost revenue) for a small mountain to completely miss the Christmas rush. Or maybe not, since I've been there Christmas Day and it was pretty deserted. Maybe most people head for the bigger places for Christmas week (if they were open).
Unfortunately, the long term weather forecast for the East coast is still for well above avertage temperature with occassional bursts into the cold.
We are headed to Colorado camp next week, Elk may be closed again before we can get up there.
And a Happy New Year to all.

My Blue Mtn home opened Thursday Jan. 7 with very limited skiing. A friend was there and told me it was major death cookies or golf balls on the one decent pitch trail open. The greens were skiing much better. Forecast is for 60's on Sunday, 30's on Monday....but, Monday will be day 1 of this short season. Should be some firm snow following the freeze, but, they should be able to groom extensively.
3 weeks to my Colorado trip, the skiing legs will not be in anywhere near the condition they were in last year.
