Just wanted to take a moment before all the crazy fun morning starts here.
Wishing all my ski friends a Very Merry Christmas/Holiday. Ski friends are really the best and just want to say how much I enjoy exchanging ideas and sharing adventures with all here.
I always look forward to skiing with as many as possible whenever possible.
Wishing you all a fantastic holiday...a Happy New Year and Sweet Turns!
Best, G

Thanks for the thoughts Gary, and, well said. Ski friends are very special people, life is short, we all need to spend more time making turns with friends.
Gary wrote "I always look forward to skiing with as many as possible whenever possible." Sounds like a great plan to me. Looking forward to the International Guys Ski Trip next month.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all!
A minor Christmas confession, my new name should be faux-skier...I've not skied this season. Weddings, a virus and warm weather...bah humbug. Monday Jan 5 will be day one.

Yes, Merry Christmas to all!
LP, sorry to hear about the virus and warm weather, but congrats on making it through the wedding. Hopefully that went well.
Bah humbug to the Christmas rain that Santa has given all of the east. Maybe in a day or two mother nature will undo what Santa has given us. Remember, if there are no fish under it, it is not ICE!
All be safe and have a healthy, happy New Year.
Jim

And to all from me as well. As it turns out, Lynn and I are feeling pretty good about doing an early week in Colorado. Season here seems like it is late getting started (or else the whole winter's snow fell in Buffalo), but i am confident that it will still even out over the entire season.
I'm sure that Gary will start doing his Snowatella dance soon to ensure good conditions for the end of the month.

Jim,
Broaden your definition of here a little. Vermont had an amazing start to the season. And a better November than Colorado. Just a 4.5 hour drive from you. It's not Beaver Creek, but there's still fun to be had aplenty.

I stand corrected, but even with lower gas prices I can't afford Vermont. Vail lift tickets are only about $30 per day so we do that and use Elk for day trips. However, going for a trip to Sugarbush sometime.

Hey Mike...plenty of time to get turns in...hope you're feeling better. We've been fortunate here with early snow. Not all the mountain is open but the steep stuff is...yeah!
Today with 40 some degree weather...it was AMAZING spring snow in December..a bonus Christmas gift for me...yeeha! My 94's were just humming!
Let's get out there whether near or far....making those purrty turns!
Best, G

However, going for a trip to Sugarbush sometime. Jim, Heck, it cost $30/day to park at Vail. I'd love to see the math that gets New Yorkers skiing Vail for $30/day. Maybe you overlooked minor expenses like plane tickets, rental cars and lodging. By seasons end at my home mountain, tolls and gas are a bigger expense than tickets. There are some smoking deals on So.Vt. midweek lift tickets. A friend with a Stratton home was trying to get me to do that pass, after 15 days, I would have been at $30 per day. I know So Vt does not work well with Lynn's NY home, so, you need to do Elk more. Any chance of the Elk demo day in 2 weeks?

What, the parking at Vail is only $25 per day (and Beaver Creek is free). You are right, my $30 number was just lift ticket price based on a season pass and 20 days of use. Not sure about demo day. Depends on weather, Lynn's schedule, and some consulting work I have. However, as much as I like Elk, I like BC and Vail's Blue Sky Basin & Breck's Peak 6 even better.
