So, when is it over for you guys.
I got two days left: 1. Saturday at Mount Snow. If anyone comes out send me shout and I'll meet you for some turns 2. Following week at stowe, I'll watch for the sunniest day and then I'll go.
Then it's over…so sad, but that's it for this year.

Season is over for me. I drove up to Windham on Friday because they re-opened for Friday thru Sunday. It's been a memorable year, but warmer weather has arrived. Returning from the Catskills I found the 23 mile Catskills Scenic Rail/Trail running through Great Gorge that we will bike when the flowers bloom. Also got my first road bike ride of the season last week. A very late start.

Colorado may not be "perfect", but we sure have a decently long ski season. I started this season before Halloween and it will most likely end sometime in June (possibly July depending what A-Basin decides they can do).
I'll probably get at least a dozen more days in and possibly another 20+.

I'll probably get at least a dozen more days in and possibly another 20+. That's the dream (at least it's my dream) ..the 100+ ski-day winter. This has been the longest season in a while for CO, correct? I never get more than 40-45, and until I move or retire it won't happen either. From my observations, There is no replacing a 100 day season for skill acquisition and ability --guys/ gals who pull off multiple 100+ seasons (especially prior to age 30) appear to have a real gap on the rest of the skiing public. Live it and Love it, HighAngles! two days left for me (though, we are talking about a Tuckerman Trip so we'll see!). I'd live in CO, probably southern or western Co however…Ouray or Durango, (yep, I know Durango ain't steamboat, but I bet living there I could double my ski and bike days-and get on their patrol as a volley..I've visited for biking and loved it). Someday...

Let's just say I'm jealous of High Angles extended season, but, he seems to enjoy rubbing it in! Enjoy!
This past Sunday, I did my last day at Blue Mt. on just a great bluebird spring day. It was special as the group of friends I ski with mid-week, all were there for the last day. Our group size was at least 12, so, it was an instant crowded run down our narrow trails. At day's end, there were several great tailgate lunches in the parking area.
The 8 month dry season begins! Time to work the golf game.

My sympathies to HighAngles. It must get awful tiresome always skiing hero powder, hero groomers, ... and even what Max_501 identifies as "hero slush." HH and I were chatting about this deficiency of Colorado skiing the other day. Fortunately, HighAngles has Eastern roots and can draw on a more diversified memory bank of skiing memories to remain a well-rounded skier as he is forced to ski 20+ more hero days this season in Colorado ;-)

I don't buy the 'if you can ski Eastern ice you can ski anywhere' trope that gets thrown around (foolishly) in ski forums and elsewhere. But there is definitely a certain culture of 'making the most of it' and hardy truculence the eastern guard core skier has that helps on any slope anywhere…even when enjoying and endless string of corn filled trails on a Sunny, big mountain in Colorado…ah damn it, I am jealous! How do I have in that 403b anyway..hmmmm... Todd, you still skiing? Killington should serve up bumps on the front until early May. How about you Mainers? Coverage must be good (though I see Saddleback will throw in the towel prematurely)? I'd love to jump a quick flight to Snowbird..best Spring skiing I've ever done (in my very limited career!). If Time slots lined up I'd always set my ski vacation for the 3rd week of April and book it only about 8 days before depending on weather forecast and base.

I'm skipping skiing this weekend for the first time since October -- doing taxes, jet lag recovery, etc. If conditions aren't too crazy, I'll hit up the big K the following weekend.
