By the way, for anyone reading the review above that I cut and pasted from the old SMFNEW forum, I don't remember the date of the original review or what model year was reviewed. You could follow the link back to the old forum to see when the review was posted, I'm sure the demo would have been the then current model year. There was a redesign of the MYA 8 for the 2012-13 ski year and no changes other than cosmetics for the 2013-14 year. The ski was softened a bit, tip changed from Flowride to one with a bit of rocker, similar to the change from the Peak 84 Pro FLR to the REV85. It became, as far as I can tell, a little bit easier but just as competent and lovely a ski.

I believe that question is directed at me...
Jim, the review was for the 12/13 Mya 8. The demo ski had a dark purple topsheet, which is that of the 12/13 model. The previous year was black, with sparkly gold flecks in it. You are correct in that the 11/12 model was based on the Peak 84, whereas the 12/13 was the analogue of the Rev 85.
The original review would have been posted some time after our trip to Banff in mid-March of this year. I will check whenever I get around to going back to SMF.

Svend: No, not really directed at you, just intended to be informational, especially for people that may not realize that the thread dates and time on this forum are when I manually cut and pasted stuff from the old forum to here. There are a lot more 11-12 MYA 8's on the web than 12-13's and I didn't want anyone to read your daughters summary and then buy the prior year not knowing that it was a different ski. But thanks for the confirmation and clarification. Jim
